I'm going to listen to that sample momentarily. But wanted to say--many people are asking for me to offer audio for my newly published book--and they want my voice. I don't even know how to do that yet but planning to investigate. FYI--it is called My Father's Daughter by Shell Norman on Amazon in case you want to check it out. 😊
I love your cover. I narrated a friend's book and planned to narrate my own because so many people asked me to do it, but I couldn't find time. Narrating it for Audible is time consuming, but it isn't very hard. ACX.com has very detailed instructions on it. It doesn't cost anything to register with ACX and check it out. There are also plenty of videos on YouTube about how to create a sound studio in your home for very little money.
Substack rolled out a similar feature last year. My articles get auto-generated audio versions whenever I (or someone else, if a reader get to it first!) share them to Notes.
I've noticed this happens for many other writers I follow. I enjoy the option to listen to an article, even knowing that the voice is AI and, like you wrote in this piece, not always perfect with the recitation.
Your audiobook sample sounds good! Allbest with it 😎
In the upper right corner of the page (on web browser, which is what I use), there's a play button. Not sure what color it is on everyone's personalized display, but it's the standard "▶️" icon. It was so cool to discover that on other folks' articles and then on mine!

Thank you so much for the feedback! Also, I hadn't heard about the Substack audio versions.
